Indonesia was something else... The wind was awesome and the waves just made it perfect! I stayed there for a whole month and still couldn’t get enough. There was a routine going, right after an epic morning surf session I would have a typical indonesian lunch, sometimes mie goren or just a seafood pasta. By that time, the wind was starting to pick up, so I was right back at the beach pumping up my Switchblade and getting ready to hit the surf one more time. To finish the day, a Yoga session was usually accomplished.
Sounds like paradise, huh?! Yeah, but like anything else, there is something to really worry about. One bite from an infected mosquito and you got Malaria. The mosquitos start coming along at sunset time. So there I was back at my room greasing me up with lots of repellent cream. Even though a certain medicine is recommended to prevent from it, I wasn’t taking it since I try to avoid drugs as much as possible. Therefore make sure you are careful if you plan on going to certain islands in Indo.
Indonesian culture is so beautiful, with lots of history and spirituality. It was an unique experience to be around it. Amazingly colorful, vibrant and full of interesting traditions.
